Pines Park in Capistrano Beach overlooks the Pacific from land tied to the community’s early Doheny-era development. Originally known as Pines Bluff Park or Doheny Pines Park, the site was created in the late 1920s as a neighborhood park and once featured the “Bowl Gardens,” with a viewing gazebo, walking paths, rose gardens and stonework. The city took over stewardship of the park after Dana Point incorporated in 1989.
